The Fitbit Sense 2, released September 2022, is Fitbit's health-first smartwatch — featuring ECG, EDA continuous stress tracking, SpO2, skin temperature, and 6 months of Fitbit Premium. With 6-day battery and compatibility with both Android and iPhone, it's the most health-capable cross-platform smartwatch at its price point.

The EDA (electrodermal activity) sensor tracks physiological stress throughout the day — a feature absent from most competitors at this price.

Continuous EDA stress tracking

Comes with Fitbit Premium for advanced sleep analysis, HRV trends, stress management scores, and personalised health insights.

6 months Fitbit Premium included

Unlike Apple Watch or Galaxy Watch, Sense 2 pairs with any smartphone and runs 6 days before charging.

Well past its release cycle with no successor announced — prices at historic lows

Fitbit Sense 2 — Google officially discontinued the Sense smartwatch line in 2024 with no Sense 3 planned. Now 3.5 years old with prices at historic lows.

Starting at $399, with up to 24 hours of battery life.

The new health sensing system samples heart rate every five seconds all day — 60x more often than the Series 11 — and measures HRV every five minutes.

A dual-chip architecture (Snapdragon W5 + Hengxuan 2800) delivers up to 6 days of mixed use, while still offering ECG, EMG gesture control, eSIM calling, and a large 1.54" AMOLED display.

Dual-chip design keeps the main Snapdragon W5 dormant during light tasks, dramatically extending battery life beyond any rival Wear OS watch.

The Google Fitbit Air, launched May 2026, is Google's screenless health tracker and the first direct WHOOP competitor from a major platform. A tiny pebble-shaped sensor clips into interchangeable bands and delivers 24/7 heart rate, SpO2, HRV, skin temperature, and background AFib detection — all without a display. At $99 with no mandatory subscription, it undercuts WHOOP significantly and works with both Android and iPhone via the Google Health app.

Unlike WHOOP, there is no mandatory membership — pay $99 once and use Fitbit Air with the free Google Health app. Google Health Premium ($9.99/month) is optional.

The Google Fitbit Edge, on sale from October 27, 2026, replaces the Fitbit Charge 6 as Google's screen-equipped fitness tracker. It has a 1.34" AMOLED display with an always-on option, multi-system GPS, an altimeter, ECG, SpO2, and skin temperature sensing in a 17.7g aluminium case rated 5ATM and IP68. Battery life is up to 7 days, and the battery is user-replaceable. Compared with the Charge 6 it drops NFC payments and the EDA stress sensor, and it uses a new band attachment, so Charge bands do not fit.
